Organizational Change

It has been almost two weeks since the announcement on the change to the organizational structure of the company & our division. Everybody has been talking about it. Tapi semua orang bercakap senyap2 saja. Tak ada la lagi orang yang openly bercakap about it. Banyak orang tertanya-tanya what it is gonna be like without him in our division. He has been with us since day one, and has always been there for all of us. He has guided us a lot, cared for us and adviced us as a big brother, father, uncle etc. Indeed we will be missing him a lot. Even orang yang baru join the company dah mula rasa akan kehilangan En Hussin apatah lagi kami yang dah lama ada di company ni.



I have not felt so engaged with a company I worked for before this, not like what I felt now with Semasa. The working culture we have in the company banyak telah dimulakan oleh En Hussin. Eventhough kita emphasize on work performance but kita still maintain the 'happy mood' and the 'family' relationship at work. It all started with him sebab the value taught to us was based on respect for each other, care for one another and always look out for each other. I believe semua di Semasa share the same value at workplace. I believe he is the first top management to make it a point to meet the staffs every month without fail; to update everyone on the development of the company. Dalam setiap staff gathering, he will be giving everyone his advice and show his concern over staff development. Jangan terkejut kalau he even knows you dah ada anak berapa, atau pada yang bujang, sekarang ni ada girlfriend nama apa, kawan dengan siapa, semua dia tau. Not busy body but care for the staff.

Well.... I think things are going to change from next week onwards. Mood kerja kat office dah tentu akan bertukar sampailah kita dah adapt to the change. Kalau tidak, pagi-pagi dia akan datang round kat office area just to check on us - masuk kerja ke tak, or masuk tapi dok bersembang aje atau dah masuk kerja tapi masih dok makan lagi kat pantry. The charm and charismatic character dalam office tu dah tak ade. Tak adala lagi kita nak beratur beramai-ramai depan pintu office untuk bersalam raya dengan En Hussin. Atau nak dengar dia mengejek cara orang cakap. Hmm... macam2 lagi example kalau nak ditulis dalam nie sampai besok tak habis2 dok menulis.

Anyway, I personally would like to wish En Hussin all the best in the new workplace, and would like to thank him for all the guidance, advice, and the sharing of thoughts, joy and laughter with me throughout my service in the company. Thank you again boss....

Challenge

Finally the management has issued the memo on the change in the orga structure of the company. It came to a surprise to everyone but since I've known about it a couple of weeks ago, it's a time to "finally accept the fact" that it's happening for real. Things will not be the same anymore after this. Our most top management is moving to another division and we are going to get a new boss starting early may. Dont quite sure what to expect. I heard that there will be a change in the office layout. What bothers me most is they are going to take over my room and god knows where they are going to put me next. I dont mind they are taking my room but the way it was conveyed to our management just pissed me off. Outsiders seem to have too much information with them and using these information to boss us around.

It is sad having to loose a great boss. The father figure will no longer be around to look after us, to give us advise, to console us and to guide us. Working for him for the past 8 years have definitely taught me a lot. I have developed my career under his guidance.

Sports day Nurul

Yesterday was Nurul's sports day at Kampung Tunku school. The event started around 8am with the children marching in single files masuk ke dalam padang. Diaorang beratur ikut kelas and those in Standard 3 went to the field first and the last batches to enter the field were the standard one and pre-schoolers. Kesian budak2 kecik tu, termasuk la Nurul. Kena berdiri tengah2 padang without shade. Those standard 3 are quite lucky - ada la jugak shade jadi takde la panas sangat. The headmistress pulak had quite a lengthy speech. Budak2 kat atas padang tu dari elok dok berdiri terus duduk ramai2 kat atas padang tu. Nampak sangat dah penat dengar cikgu dia dok celoteh bagi speech. Bukannya orang dengar sangat pun, as everybody were excited dok tunggu event nak start.

Worst still Nurul had fever the night before. I still insisted for her to go to school that morning and told her not to worry. Kalau dia rasa tak larat, I told her to just call me or the teacher and request to leave the field. She said ok but tunjuk la muka masam dia tu. I gave her fever medicine before we left for school so by the time dia masuk padang, temperature dia dah turun and she was practically having fun and playing with her friends and forgot all about her fever.

She participated in the sukaneka and kena race bawa bola besar lalu keliling a few cones as the obstacles. She's in rumah merah and she got second. Immediately after her event terus buat prize giving ceremony.Tersengeh-sengeh la dia; seronok nampak ayah dia datang untuk amik gambar masa prize giving ceremony tu. Ada pulak Adik yang datang untuk bagi moral support.

Right after her event we head home. Malas nak tunggu sampai semua event habis sebab I was supposed to attend training at PSMB that morning. So lepas hantar the children to Ilah's house, both J and I balik rumah to change. Alang-alang dah lambat, I went to training at 1.00pm just in time for lunch.

Rugi aje pegi training lambat. Best pulak trainer hari ni. Not like the one I had the day before. It was on Project Management and having to have a very experienced trainer and moreover a topic which I am not familiar with, the topic immediately caught my interest. I stayed until 10pm that night for the night session. At least ada la basic knowledge on PM nanti. Bought a book on PM from the lecturer at RM110 but unfortunately takde receipt la pulak. Got to find a blank receipt kalau nak claim dari office nanti.

First Time

This is the first time I create a blog. Have seen some of my friends having their own blog make me want to try to have one too. Well..... wanting to have one is one thing but trying to update it frequently is another. Anyway, will try my best to keep everyone updated.

First Time

Well, it's my first time trying to blog. Have seen others writing and updating and find it quite interesting to share with others what I experience. At the moment, i am trying to figure out how this thing should work and looking for things to write. Well... next it whether I'd have time to update ke tidak. Berangan memang jauh - to update it as frequent as I can. But... ntah menjadi ke tidak nanti, kita sama-sama ajela tengok ok.
